The moon is bright;
As delightfully luminous
As it has been
For some time,
And closer to
Its host
Than its travels
Have taken it in ages,
And just when I’m all set
To snap away
And capture it
My batteries die:
First the camera
Stammers to a stop,
And then the phone’s
Slender lens ends,
Leaving me with
Only a handful of shots,
And regrets
That I didn’t set out better,
But the clouds
Were loud anyway,
And it was too cold
To hold out for quietness,
So I filtered what I could,
And uploaded it,
And left the sediment
To be sent afterwards,
And once my devices
Have been revitalised,
And the sky compliant,
I may just try again.
