FLAVOUR.

Passing from cell to cell
The residual
Truth
Of food
Proves
What taste knows well:
That whatever doesn’t melt
In the mouth
Is left out
On the plate
To be rated
By lesser mortals
Whose portals
Are stuffed
With rougher
Substances
Or groceries
That closely
Resemble
The end of
The menu
And know no better
Than trend setters
Who met
At the table
To sample
The same staples
Available
And declared them
Edible;
Still
Let them wilt
With the swill
They fill
Up the shelves with
And he’ll live
Richly
On the right
Diet.
