YOU.

You are my life’s message;
It’s very essence;
The point of its passage
From beginning to end,
And the answer to the mystery of existence:

Of why I was made,
And saved for service,
When others more worthy were not,
And why time
Hasn’t forgotten to option me;

For when strength fails
And no manner of tougher hands
Can hold me;
For when cold wraps tight
And heat can only hope to disclose it.

You are for whom all those costly words
Of earnest,
Yet ultimately graceless faiths
Were engraved,
And prayed with;

The kiss from the lips
Of the risen messiah,
That identified man’s loneliness,
And lifted away the sadness
Of the whole world,

And for the great grey day of death,
Which shall be met
With no fear
Because of your presence,
And the knowledge that you walked here.
