Once more unto the Queen
Dear friends,
Once forward more unto
The never ending monarch.
Once more up to her heels
I kneel
And cede her
My allegiance.
Once more surrendering
My sense in lieu
Of deference
And history.
Once more to she who’s been
The spine of my country
For more years
Than mortal man should ever toil.
Once more to foil republicans
And partisans
Who fancy themselves
Free of her,
For once more around her sun
Do I and everyone
In this Kingdom come
Revolve
And though we may sway this orbit
She remains
Unchanged
Whilst adapting to our strangeness.
